Cobblestones underfoot, a live jazz set on Saturday night, and ten friends standing with one foot in Nebraska and one in Iowa: Omaha gives a bachelorette party a weekend where the whole group stays in one conversation. It costs a fraction of Nashville, the rooms keep ten people at one table, and nothing here is priced at a bride. This is a shortlist, not a schedule, sorted by the problems every group actually has: a room that seats you, one night worth building around, a table where the vegetarian and the non-drinker order like everyone else, and a Sunday that asks nothing of anyone. Only two things can close on you: The Jewell plays Friday and Saturday nights only, and the Durham Museum wants two weeks' notice for a group.

## Rooms for a group — Rooms that actually seat a party your size

### Go here: Brickway Brewery & Distillery

This is the hour when the strangers in your party stop being strangers. Brickway brews and distils on site among the Old Market's cobblestones, and offers two things a group of ten can book: a private tour and tasting that ends with a pour of what they make, or the Borgata Lounge, a private event space with a speakeasy feel. There is no stated party-size limit, so send your headcount and date through drinkbrickway.com and get the answer in writing. A sushi kitchen shares the roof, so dinner never splits the group.

### Or here: The Drover

Steak is Omaha's real food culture, and The Drover is the version worth the drive: three decades in, known for its whiskey-marinated filet and ribeye, and laid out as a warren of small rooms. It sits out west, so plan cars and a designated driver. Large parties and private rooms go by phone or OpenTable; for ten on a Saturday, call weeks ahead and ask about vegetarian options on the same call.

### Eat & rest

The Old Market is reason enough to base yourselves downtown: cobblestone streets, more than forty-five restaurants, galleries and small shops within a few blocks. On night one, skip the booking. Let people peel off, then meet at an agreed time and corner.

*Brickway and the Old Market share the same few blocks, so night one needs no cars. The Drover is about fifteen minutes west by car, and ten people means three cars, not two.*

## The one big thing — The one thing worth building the weekend around

### Go here: The Jewell

If the weekend gets one booking, make it this. The Jewell is a supper-club jazz room in the Capitol District, with table service and a real stage, so the whole party faces the music instead of making small talk for four hours. Music runs Friday and Saturday only, 6:30pm to 11pm, with the set usually between 7:30 and 10. Reserve through jewellomaha.com \(shows are ticketed separately\) and email Jewell@marcushotels.com early about a table for ten, minimums and age rules.

### Or here: The Durham Museum

Walk into the great hall of a 1931 Art Deco railroad terminal, order at the soda fountain, then explore restored passenger trains on the platform below. The group rate suits you exactly: ten or more people paying together, booked at least two weeks ahead via the group request form on durhammuseum.org or the education department. Book it with the flights. Hours shift with the season, and the museum closes one day a week.

### Eat & rest

For the easiest daytime yes, the Joslyn Art Museum on Dodge Street is free to everyone, always, in a marble Art Deco building reopened after a major expansion. Nobody has to justify a ticket: drift in, give it forty minutes, leave. Call ahead for a guided group visit.

*The Jewell and the Durham are a short walk or ride from the Old Market; Joslyn is about a mile west. Book The Jewell first, then the Durham, then dinner.*

## Feeding everyone — Where to eat when everyone wants something different

### Go here: Inner Rail Food Hall

Ten people, ten different dinners, one table. Inner Rail in Aksarben Village puts nine independent kitchens and a bar under one roof — burgers, Nepalese momos, ramen and sushi, Mexican, modern Mediterranean, subs, pizza — and everyone orders and pays at their own counter. The vegetarian picks a kitchen instead of picking around a menu, and the non-drinker orders from the same bar as everyone else's round.

### Or here: Blackstone District

One street, many rooms. Along Farnam Street in midtown, roughly 36th to 42nd, around twenty food-and-drink spots sit within a few minutes' walk: Crescent Moon, pouring craft beer since 1996, Mula for Mexican and tequila, Noli's for New York slices, Little India and a couple of Japanese kitchens. Split into twos and threes for an hour, then regroup at Coneflower Creamery, where scratch-made ice cream suits the drinker and the non-drinker alike.

### Eat & rest

Skip the sit-down dinner for ten. Omaha's small chef-driven rooms are excellent, and most cannot seat ten on a Saturday. Both stops above are counter service, with no cover and no minimum to sit down, so save your effort for the music room.

*Inner Rail is about ten minutes south-west of downtown by car, Blackstone about the same distance west. Pair Inner Rail with the Sunday farmers market at the same intersection.*

## The bridge — The free hour that everybody remembers

### Go here: Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge

The best group hour in Omaha costs nothing. The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge runs 3,000 feet across the Missouri, the longest pedestrian bridge in the country to connect two states, and a marker in the deck lets the whole party stand in Nebraska and Iowa at once for the photo everyone wants. No booking, no minimum, and latecomers just walk out to meet you. It is fully exposed to river wind, so go at golden hour, and check access and parking first: the riverfront redevelopment changed the approaches.

### Or here: Old Market

When the weather rules out the bridge, and in Omaha it will, wander the Old Market instead: cobblestones, galleries, record shops, a candy shop and a long-running scratch ice-cream counter, several linked by interior passageways. Same aimless hour, under cover, with no ticket and no minimum spend.

### Eat & rest

Save this for the group's worst hour, the second-day afternoon lull, when everyone is tired and hungry in different directions. An hour outside with no decisions fixes more than anything you could book.

*The bridge landing is a ten-minute walk from the north end of the Old Market, with riverfront parking. Check the forecast the night before: the wind decides it, not the temperature.*

## Sunday morning — What to do with a Sunday morning

### Go here: Omaha Farmers Market

The right last morning for a fraying group: outdoors, free, self-paced, and everyone eats something different. Saturdays it fills 11th and Jackson in the Old Market, 8:00am to 12:30pm. Sundays it moves to Aksarben Village at 67th Street and Mercy Road, 9:00am to 1:00pm, the same intersection as Inner Rail. The 2026 season runs 2 May to 10 October in the Old Market and 3 May to 11 October at Aksarben, with a two-day holiday market at Aksarben in early December.

### Or here: Coneflower Creamery

*Out of season: coffee, ice cream and a museum with no ticket*

From late October to May, swap in the indoor version: free general admission at the Joslyn Art Museum, then scratch-made ice cream at Coneflower Creamery in Blackstone or at Millwork Commons, 1241 Millwork Avenue. Both suit a group arriving in pieces, and both are indoors, which in a Nebraska winter settles it. Coneflower closes on Mondays, and each location keeps its own hours.

### Eat & rest

Eppley Airfield sits just across the river, minutes from the Old Market, so you can do the market and still make a lunchtime flight. Order cars earlier than feels necessary: ten people with luggage fill three cars, and they never arrive at once.

*Tell everyone the time you need to leave, not the flight time. The group will meet the earlier number, and nobody ends up waiting on a kerb.*

## Book these first

Only a few bookings can close on a party of ten. Lock them in this order:

- The Jewell: your Friday or Saturday music night, reserved early, with a table for ten, minimums and age rules settled by email or phone.
- The Durham Museum: ten or more people paying together, booked at least two weeks ahead.
- Brickway Brewery & Distillery: a private tour and tasting or the Borgata Lounge, with your headcount confirmed in writing.
- The Drover: a phone call weeks out for a Saturday table for ten.

## Where to stay, and the arithmetic behind it

For ten people, the expensive mistake is not the hotel rate. It is the cars.

- Stay in or beside the Old Market. Brickway, The Jewell, the Durham Museum and the bridge are all walkable from there, which takes rideshares out of most of the weekend.
- Book one big house over five hotel rooms, if only for the kitchen table where a weekend for ten comes together. Check the listing's occupancy limit and the local short-term-rental rules.
- Inner Rail, the Blackstone District and The Drover each need a ride. Order three cars, not two, and put one person in charge of each.

## Why Omaha instead of Nashville

The trade you are weighing, without the spin:

- You lose scale: no strip of forty music rooms, no bachelorette industry, and fewer venues with a stated group policy, which costs you a few phone calls.
- You gain a weekend cheap enough that everyone comes, including the friend who was going to send apologies.
- Nothing is priced at you: no pedal tavern, no packaged crawl, no per-head add-on. You pay what a local pays.
- If the bride wants a loud country-music weekend, go to Nashville. That plan is linked below.

## What to skip, and before you go

- Modern Love, the vegan restaurant, closed for good in December 2024. Its owners' Blackstone successor, Fifth House, reopened in September 2026 after a short closure, so confirm it is serving before you plan around it.
- Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is the city's best-known sight, and a full day far from everything else here. Groups add it because it is famous, then resent it.
- Prices, hours and kitchen line-ups move. Confirm them before you go, along with the farmers market's dates for the current year.
- Then sit down together and decide: lock The Jewell and the Durham, pick one dinner room, and leave the bridge, the market and the Old Market loose for whoever still has the energy.
