WonderKit
Honest comparison

WonderKit vs Wanderlog

Both plan trips. Here's where they differ — written so you can actually decide.

WonderKit

WonderKit is an AI-first group planner. You describe a trip; you get a full itinerary in seconds. Memory across trips, voting, expense splitting, and a daily local-discovery feed are all built in.

Wanderlog

Wanderlog is a mature, desktop-first trip planner with a strong itinerary builder, map view, and integrated booking links. Popular for road trips and self-booked travel.

Short version

Use Wanderlog if…

  • ·You plan long, multi-stop road trips where the map view is central.
  • ·You're the sole planner and want fine-grained manual control of every stop.
  • ·You book most travel through their affiliate links (some people prefer that).

Use WonderKit if…

  • ·You're planning with a group and need voting, expense splitting, and shared edits.
  • ·You want the AI to finish the plan, not just give you an empty grid.
  • ·You want one subscription to cover the whole group — not per seat.
  • ·You want "what's on tonight" discovery alongside trip planning.

The differences that matter

Pricing is the biggest structural difference

Wanderlog prices per user on Pro. A family of 5 paying $60/yr each = $300/yr. WonderKit prices per group: one $49/yr Plus subscription covers the entire family. For groups of 3+, the math matters.

AI is a different philosophy

Wanderlog's AI helps you fill in a plan you're building. WonderKit's AI writes the plan, then you edit. For planners who love manual control, Wanderlog's approach is preferable. For "just give me something to react to", WonderKit is faster.

WonderKit also plans your tonight

WonderKit's Discover feed publishes a daily what's-on-right-now page for 46 cities — events, restaurants, things to do this week. Wanderlog is oriented entirely around future trips.

Questions we get

Can I import my Wanderlog trips into WonderKit?+
Not yet via a direct import. Most users paste in the destination and dates and let the AI rebuild — which often produces a better plan than the original.
Does WonderKit have a desktop experience?+
Yes — a responsive web app that works well on desktop. The product is mobile-first but not mobile-only.
Which has the better map view?+
Wanderlog. If mapping every stop on a multi-city road trip is your core need, Wanderlog's map-first UX is the more refined product.
Can I use both?+
Yes — some users plan in WonderKit (AI + group) and keep Wanderlog for solo road trips. They overlap but serve different primary use cases.
