Diamond Head State Monument
Climb Lēʻahi arm in arm while the crater is still in shade.
The trail from the crater floor is short but steep, with switchbacks, stairs and a tunnel, and it ends at a wartime observation post above the whole south shore: reef lines, Waikīkī's towers and open Pacific. It is paved, busy and popular, yet no view fixes the island in your head faster. Out-of-state visitors must reserve an entry slot online, and the early slots go first, so book the moment your dates are set.
